What is the best location to attach my Rod Clip+™ on my vest?
Try wearing your Rod Clip+ on both sides of your vest to see which side works best for you. For example if you tend to put your flies or tippet on the left side of your vest, put your Rod Clip+ on the right side Rod Clip+ has two zinger attachment holes so you can reorient the rod opening if needed.
Where is the best location to attach Rod Clip+ to my fly rod?
We recommend securing Rod Clip just above your fly rod handle. This tilts the rod and keeps the line from wrapping around the rod tip .
Should my line be outside the clip when I secure it to the rod?
No. You can also position your fly rod so the line goes into the clip first, and then push the rod into place.
What size rods are compatible for use with Rod Clip+™?
Smith Creek Rod Clip+™ is designed for use with light to medium weight outfits up to: ½-inch (13mm) diameter and a maximum weight of 1 ½ lbs. (.75 kg). Rod Clip+™ is not for use with big game-fishing, large surfcasting or other heavy-weight outfits.
How long is Smith Creek Rod Clip+™ warrantied for?
Like all Smith Creek fly fishing gear, Rod Clip+™ has a one (1) year warranty against defects in material and workmanship. If your Rod Clip+™ fails during this period, please refer to our Warranty Section for more information.
